Real-time news alerts |
Net Sorcerer was the first real-time desktop news alerts application developed on the internet in 2000 by Matthew Hagger and Eugene Kouumdjieff. Initially running on 28k dial up connections, this was the first real-time web client application of its kind and set the benchmark for a number of media companies and their news alerts strategy, worldwide.
Technology such as Adobe Air along with real-time products that utilise these platforms can look back to Net Sorcerer as the beginning of desktop news clients. The technology (E-man) was granted an award for Innovation by the UK Government and received over £100,000 in funding from the DTI.
Net Sorcerer provided the blueprint to commercial real-time news strategies for Skysports.com, Warnermusic, Universal, McDonalds and other global brands.
